Situated near the Patwa valley, this haveli comprises of 5 different palaces, and is also known as the house of the brocade merchants, because it was built by a wealthy brocade merchant and jeweler. The 5 mansions are meant for 5 Patwa brothers. At present, there is one haveli where guests are put up, while two others are under the authority of Archeological Survey of India. Inside the mansion, there is a museum and shop for antique furniture. The mansion is made of yellow sandstone with brown gateway. The walls are adorned with exquisite mirror works and beautiful paintings. Also, each of its arches is created with a distinctly unique style. There are lattice or jali carvings, which let the sunlight illuminate the place. It has about 60 balconies in total, and the structure is constructed in traditional style of Jaisalmer. This mansion complex is one of the most well preserved heritages of the region.
Maharaja Palace, Jaisalmer
Maharaja’s Palace is located in the complex of the Jaisalmer Fort. It is also known as the Jaisalmer Fort Palace Museum and Heritage Centre. This building has five storeys and is famous for its intricately carved windows and balconies. The left entrance of the palace is made of marble stone and is supposed to be the place where kings addressed their subjects. Tourists can see the silver coronation throne, bed, dish, local stamps, banknotes and sculptures here. The panoramic view of the Jaisalmer city can be enjoyed from the rooftop of the palace. Early afternoon is the best time to visit this palace to avoid tourists rush. The palace remains open for visitors from 9 am to 6 pm during October to March and from 8 am to 6 pm during April to September.
Kuldhara Village

The story goes like this, Once this village was home to around 1,500 Paliwal Brahmins, which has lived in this community for more than five centuries peacefully and comfortable. But one night, the entire population, including 85 villages, vanished overnight in the dark and left it with a curse that still haunts it. And nobody knows where they left. For centuries, people have been thinking about what might be the reason that the people fled overnight.
Nathmal Ji Ki Haveli
